We are pleased to announce the 6th International Conference of the  Aphra Behn Society Europe “Gender Cartographies: Histories, Texts & Cultures in the Long Eighteenth Century, 1660-1830” hosted by the  University of Huelva under the auspices of the Aphra Behn Society  Europe. The Conference will be held at Santa María de La Rábida  Campus (Andalusian International University) only 11 kilometres away  from Huelva city centre, and will run from Wednesday, October 5th  through Friday, October 7th, 2016. The inspiration of the Conference is first and foremost the literary  production, critical resonance and lasting influence of the  traditionally considered first professional woman writer in English,  Aphra Behn, though the scope of the event is wider and includes  historical, textual and cultural approaches to the long eighteenth  century with a particular focus on women’s writing. We invite proposals from scholars and academics on these related  fields, but will also welcome papers from postgraduate and  postdoctoral students. We hope to offer participants a productive academic and social  occasion to share knowledge and interact profitably in a valuable  historic site. The deadline for submission is May 20, 2016. You can download the  CFP here.
