However if you need help with
accommodation and/or Spanish language
support please see the Exchange/Erasmus
student pages

Visiting Students do not have to pass a language
level test to be accepted but if taking subjects in
Spanish are expected to have a competent level in
both written and spoken Spanish. Visiting students
are not permitted to take first year subjects
Acceptance of visiting students is the responsibility
of the Faculty. Visiting students pay for administration
costs and for the credits corresponding to their subjects.
At the end of the study period visiting students receive a
Transcript recording their grades and credits achieved and
can apply at their home university, if applicable to have
their studies recognised by their home university as part
of a degree. The University of Huelva is not involved in
this process.
Important Information about Visas and Medical Insurance
for International Students Visas for Spain must be organised
before coming to Spain. The Dean of the Faculty in Huelva where
you intend to take classes should provide an acceptance letter
for their accepted visiting students so that they can start
their Visa application in their country. This process can be
lengthy and students are advised to start as soon as possible.
(Exchange students will receive an acceptance letter from the
University of Huelva International Office.)
Once in Spain it is impossible to apply for a student
visa or to change a tourist visa to a student visa. Visa
applications are only accepted in the Embassies and before
the students have left the sending country.
Students should apply for a 6 month visa for Spain if
coming for one semester. This visa is very convenient as
students will not have to visit the Immigration Office on
arrival in Huelva. It is impossible to apply for extension
of this visa while in Spain.
Students wishing to stay for longer than 6 months
should apply for a three month student visa (type D).
Within 10 days of arriving in Spain students will have
to visit the Immigration Office in Huelva to apply for
an extension of up to one year.
All non European students should be sure that their
visa allows them to be in Spain legally for the time
of their study period and should know the restrictions
or limitations of the visa, for example if it will allow
them to leave Spain and return within the time covered
by the Visa.
