Abstract

The results of an exploratory research on the concept of Smart Tourist Destination (STD) are presented. It has been carried out using two panels of experts, trying to contribute to the definition of its still fuzzy profile, with a fragmented and very limited scientific literature.

In addition to the corresponding literature review, within which a particular emphasis has been made in the approach provided by the complexity theory, the content of this paper covers a number of features of a STD: key aspects; definition; dimensions; functions of the management entity; areas of activity or services to provide; technologies...
