Américo E C Lemos Resumen Hydrocarbons either saturated or unsaturated, are readily available from oil refineries at a low prices. Because of this, they are potentially good candidates as raw materials for the synthesis of other, more complex, value-added molecules. The main goal of this action is to add the expertise of both groups in the field of catalysis to develop catalytic systems that operate under the aforementioned sustainable chemistry philosophy. Moderate reaction conditions and high degrees of atomic selectivity with minimization of non-desired by-products are required features in these synthetic processes. In addition, other interesting reactions will be studied to improve current, non-sustainable processes. |
