Los representantes m\u00e1s destacados son las esponjas. \u00c9stas tienen forma de saco, fijo por la parte inferior y con una amplia abertura (el \u00f3sculo) en el eje opuesto. El cuerpo es poroso y comunica con el interior mediante una compleja red de canales, los cuales conducen el agua desde el exterior hacia el interior.
