Marta Serdakowska es una estudiante polaca que ha cursado un cuatrimestre en nuestra Universidad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please, tell us a few about you (what do you study, where you are from\u2026.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

My name is Marta and I\u2019m from Poland. I study geography because travelling is my big passion. I consider travelling as one of the best opportunities to learn and to develop!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cu\u00e9ntanos un poco sobre ti (qu\u00e9 estudias, de d\u00f3nde eres\u2026).<\/em><\/p>\n

Me llamo Marta y soy de Polonia. Estudio geograf\u00eda porque viajar es mi gran pasi\u00f3n. \u00a1Pienso que viajar es una de las mejores oportunidades para aprender y desarrollarse!<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>1. First of all, what can you tell us about your experience at Huelva University as well as the city itself?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have really good experience about both Huelva University and city itself. Although I come from Warsaw, capital city of Poland, and my first impression was that \u201cit\u2019s gonna be boring here\u201d, my perception changed fast. I felt in Huelva like home. I liked the fact it\u2019s small and calm. I quickly got accustomed and found my favourite places.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And what struck me the most about University were people! Always eager to help and explain everything, even if we couldn\u2019t communicate in any language \ud83d\ude09 Everyone: students, professors, workers are very open and friendly. It was really important for me as a foreign student.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And what is more, University of Huelva has good level of teaching, respectful attitude towards students and is well-equipped.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>1.\u00a0<\/em>Para empezar, \u00bfqu\u00e9 puedes contarnos sobre tu experiencia en la Universidad de Huelva, adem\u00e1s de la ciudad en s\u00ed?<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Pues tengo muy buena experiencia tanto de la Universidad de Huelva como de la ciudad. Aunque cuando vine de Varsovia, la capital de Polonia, mi primera impresi\u00f3n fue \u201cMe voy a aburrir aqu\u00ed\u201d, pero mi percepci\u00f3n cambi\u00f3 r\u00e1pido. En Huelva me sent\u00ed como en casa. Me gust\u00f3 que fuera peque\u00f1a y tranquila. R\u00e1pidamente, me acostumbr\u00e9 a ella y encontr\u00e9 mis lugares favoritos. \u00a1Y lo que m\u00e1s me impresion\u00f3 de la Universidad, fue la gente! Siempre dispuestos a ayudarte y a explic\u00e1rtelo todo, incluso aunque no pudi\u00e9ramos comunicarnos en ninguna lengua \ud83d\ude09 Todos: los estudiantes, los profesores, los trabajadores son muy abiertos y amables. Fue muy importante para m\u00ed como estudiante extranjera. Y adem\u00e1s, la Universidad de Huelva tiene buen nivel de ense\u00f1anza, actitud respetuosa hacia los alumnos y est\u00e1 bien equipada<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>2. What was your relationship with the University\u2019s Library?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unfortunately I didn\u2019t have a lot of opportunities to benefit from University\u2019s Library as I studied in English and I mainly used the materials from the classes and from Internet. Anyway, I was coming sometimes to Library to use computer, to study in silence or even just to ask for help and I always got what I needed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>2.\u00a0<\/em>\u00bfCu\u00e1l ha sido tu relaci\u00f3n con la Biblioteca de la Universidad?<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Desafortunadamente, no he tenido muchas oportunidades de disfrutar de la Biblioteca de la Universidad, ya que estudiaba en ingl\u00e9s y principalmente usaba los materiales de las clases y de Internet. De todas formas, a veces iba a la Biblioteca para usar el ordenador, estudiar en silencio o incluso pedir ayuda, y siempre que la he necesitado, la he recibido.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>3. Did you find many differences with the library of your University in Poland?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In my home University I have 2 libraries. One is the library of my faculty (with technical books connected with world and geography) and another one is very big library of the whole University of Warsaw, where you can find book and newspapers from every area of the science. So the difference is mainly in size and resources. But everything is clearly organized and there are always people who will help students. We have place to sit and study, computers to use and during examination time sometimes it is also open 24h ( the big library).<\/strong><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0<\/em>\u00bfEncuentras muchas diferencias con la biblioteca de tu Universidad en Polonia?<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>En mi Universidad tengo dos bibliotecas. Una es la biblioteca de mi facultad (con libros t\u00e9cnicos relacionados con el mundo y la geograf\u00eda) y la otra es una biblioteca muy grande que pertenece a toda la Universidad de Varsovia, donde puedes encontrar libros y peri\u00f3dicos de todas las \u00e1reas de la ciencia. Por eso, la gran diferencia est\u00e1 en el tama\u00f1o y en los recursos. Pero todo esta organizado con claridad y siempre hay gente que ayudar\u00e1 a los estudiantes. Tenemos sitio para sentarnos y estudiar, ordenadores para utilizar y a veces, durante el periodo de ex\u00e1menes, est\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n abierta 24h (la biblioteca grande).<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>4. Is there anything that you miss in our library and that you think it would be helpful for Erasmus students?<\/strong><\/p>\n

For sure it would be helpful if library staff spoke English as a lot of Erasmus students cannot speak Spanish but need to use the library. Anyway, I\u2019m aware this is duty of incoming students to learn language.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also it could be helpful if the library possessed books used during classes. Then we wouldn\u2019t have to buy the whole coursebook but just copy the part we would use during the course. All the rest I find impeccable \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>4. \u00a0<\/em>\u00bfHay algo que eches en falta en nuestra biblioteca y que pienses que podr\u00eda ser de gran ayuda para los estudiantes Erasmus?<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Sin duda, ser\u00eda conveniente que el personal de la biblioteca hablara ingl\u00e9s, ya que muchos estudiantes Erasmus no saben hablar espa\u00f1ol pero necesitan usar la biblioteca. De todas formas, soy consciente que es deber de los estudiantes que llegan aprender la lengua. Tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda ser de gran ayuda que la biblioteca tuviera los libros que se usan durante las clases. As\u00ed, no tendr\u00edamos que comprar todos los libros de texto, sino solo fotocopiar la parte que us\u00e1ramos durante el curso. Todo lo dem\u00e1s, lo considero perfecto.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>5. Can you, please, recommend us any library at your hometown?\u00a0 Well, not only libraries, any place you consider it would be interesting to visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Of course I\u2019d recommend Warsaw University Library (BUW) which apart from scientific offer attracts with its famous gardens and beautiful view from the roof. Close to BUW there is the oldest, historic part of University of Warsaw, beautiful Old Town and walking route called Trakt Kr\u00f3lewski. It is worth to visit some museums, art galleries and theaters which we have a wide range of in Warsaw. The centre is modern part, Wilan\u00f3w and \u0141azienki are places of royal residence and Praga is the district famous among artists. You can either spend time sightseeing or just relaxing on one of the beaches among Vistula River. Warsaw is beautiful city and I encourage everyone to come and experience that!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>5. \u00a0 <\/em>\u00bfPodr\u00edas recomendarnos alguna biblioteca de tu ciudad? Bueno, no solo bibliotecas, cualquier lugar que consideres que ser\u00eda interesante visitar.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Por supuesto, recomendar\u00eda la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Varsovia (BUW), la cual, adem\u00e1s de la oferta cient\u00edfica, destaca por sus famosos jardines y hermosas vistas desde la azotea. Cerca de la Biblioteca est\u00e1 lo m\u00e1s antiguo, la parte hist\u00f3rica de la Universidad de Varsovia, el hermoso Casco Antiguo y la ruta a pie llamada Trakt Kr\u00f3lewski. Merece la pena visitar algunos museos, galer\u00edas de arte y teatros de los que tenemos una gran variedad en Varsovia. El centro es la parte moderna, Wilan\u00f3w y Lazienki son lugares de residencia real y Praga es el famoso distrito entre artistas. Puedes pasar tiempo haciendo turismo o simplemente relajarte en una de las playas entre Vistula River. \u00a1Varsovia es una hermosa ciudad y animo a todo el mundo a venir y experimentar todo esto!<\/em><\/p>\n
