MAGDEM Ion Test Bench (IONTB)

The ion test bench (IOTB) has the mission to test and characterise MAGDEM and ISRS beam dynamics using heavy ion beams. Due to the high quality of MAGDEM magnetic field, IONTB can be also work as a linear spectrometer to carry out experiments. Gamma, neutron, and particle detectors can complete a high-resolution detector setup for light, medium-mass projectiles. Three configurations are possible with varying costs, that can be organised in 3 phases:

• Phase 1: Low resolution, (RC)(MAG)(FPD)
• Phase 2: Medium resolution, QQ(RC)(MAG)(FPD)
• Phase 3: High resolution, (RC)QQ(MAG)QQ(FPD)

A possible configuration for Phase 2 is shown in the figure.
