La cadena de valor de la batería del vehículo eléctrico. Retos para las políticas públicas en la industria del automóvil

Resumen

El artículo analiza la reciente localización de las actividades de la cadena de valor de la batería del vehículo eléctrico. En particular, en un país clave para la industria europea del automóvil como es España. Los resultados de este análisis destacan que las nuevas localizaciones han favorecido el desarrollo de esta cadena de valor. Sin embargo, no ha implicado localizaciones de algunas actividades de alto valor añadido como las de producción de componentes para las celdas, y las inversiones han sido irrelevantes en actividades de reciclaje. Las empresas propietarias de estas nuevas localizaciones son, en su mayoría, de capital extranjero. De estos resultados se deriva que las actuales políticas públicas de atracción de inversiones deben revisarse en el sentido de captar las actividades que no están presentes en esta cadena de valor, y fomentar que las decisiones de inversión se tomen en el país a través de empresas domésticas.
