El transporte mar\u00edtimo constituye hoy la columna vertebral de la econom\u00eda global, moviendo entre\u00a0el 80 y 90%<\/a>\u00a0del comercio internacional. Desde los chips que utilizan los dispositivos tecnol\u00f3gicos hasta el grano para pienso animal, pasando por petr\u00f3leo y autom\u00f3viles, pr\u00e1cticamente todo lo que consumimos ha navegado por los oc\u00e9anos en alg\u00fan momento. Esta dependencia convierte al transporte mar\u00edtimo en un elemento estrat\u00e9gico fundamental que trasciende lo meramente econ\u00f3mico para convertirse en una herramienta de poder geopol\u00edtico de primer orden.<\/p>\n

La importancia actual del transporte mar\u00edtimo no puede entenderse sin analizar su evoluci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica y las transformaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas que lo han moldeado.
