Molly Malone es un personaje legendario y unos dicen que existi\u00f3 y otros que no, que s\u00f3lo es la protagonista de una canci\u00f3n compuesta a finales del siglo XIX y que hizo fortuna convirti\u00e9ndose en un tema cantado por todo el mundo y que ya ha pasado a considerarse una canci\u00f3n tradicional y para muchos el himno de Dubl\u00edn. Esta mujer era una pescadora que durante el d\u00eda se ganaba la vida vendiendo el pescado y marisco que capturaba y que transportaba en un carro que ella misma empujaba gritando \u201c\u00a1Berberechos y mejillones tan frescos que est\u00e1n vivos!\u201d (Grito que origin\u00f3 la canci\u00f3n), y por la noche se dedicaba a la prostituci\u00f3n.
