Dr. Juan J. García Machado is professor of Finance in the Department of Financial Economics, Accounting and Operations Management at the University of Huelva, Spain. He received his PhD from the University of Seville in 1994.

His research interests include derivative financial markets, banking, measuring risk, real options, valuation of firms and online finance. His work has been presented in national and international conferences and has been published in refereed journals such as European Review of Management and Business Economics, International Journal Electronic Finance, Information Management and Computer Security, Innovar Journal, Banks and Bank Systems, Spanish Securities Exchange Commission publications, etc. He is a fellow of European Academy of Management and Business Economics and Spanish Finance Association.
