Electronics and data acquisition

With the present setup we have a total of 136 silicon detectors, therefore signal processing is carried out via multi-channel modules, which have been provided by Mesytec Gbr.

The figures is show some basic equipment used in our experiments for analog signal processing:

  • 1 Single pad detector preamplifier (8 ch.)
  • 8 Strip detector preamplifiers (16 ch.)
  • 8 Strip detector amplifiers/timing (16 ch.)
  • 8 Detector bias supply (4 ch.)
  • 3 Preamplifier bias supply (4 ch.)

A typical DINEX experiment will need to accumulate more than 200 parameters for each valid event. In order to acquire and to process such an amount of information, a list mode data acquisition system based on MBS software developed at GSI has been installed on a VME platform. Some basic equipment available:

  • 12 slot VME crate + CES processor
  • 6 CAEN 32 ch VME ADC
  • 6 CAEN 32 ch VME TDC
