Gian Lorenzo Bernini, The rape of Proserpina (1621-1622)

Gabriel Martel Bravo was born December 25, 1970 in Seville. He studied classical philology in Seville (1990) and London (1991-1995), where, under the supervision of Dr. Anne Sheppard, he studied ancient philosophy, especially the connections between Plato and Pythagoras in theories about the immortality of the soul and reincarnation. Validated his studies at the University of Cádiz.
Since 2002 he has been teaching Latin and Greek in secondary education, in Extremadura and Andalusia. He has completed the Masters Classic Literature from Antiquity to the Golden Age at the University of Huelva.
In addition to his interest in Greco-Latin literature and culture, heis interested in implementing new technologies in the humanities and their learning opportunities. Over the past years has attended courses on pedagogical issues as well around the ICT and its use in the classroom.

Gabriel Martel is responsible for editing and textual commentary of the book V for the Research Project of Ovid's Metamorphoses.
