Maxfield Parrish, Cadmus Sowing the Dragon’s Teeth, 1908

After studying Classical Philology and Geography and History, he received his Ph. D. in Philology at the University of Seville, where he currently holds a professorship of Latin Philology. In addition to articles in some of the most relevant journals in the area, he has published an edition of De Rebus Indicis of Juan Cristóbal Calvete de Estrella in the Bibliotheca Tubneriana (1998) and an edition and translation of the Metamorphoses of Apuleius in the collection Alma Mater (Madrid, 2004). He has also done the first Spanish version of the complete works of Hrotsvit of Gandersheim in collaboration with Rosario Moreno Soldevila (Huelva, 2005) and the Spanish translation of Ennio which has appeared in Biblioteca Clásica Gredos (Madrid, 2006).

Juan Martos is responsible for editing and textual commentary of Book III to the Research Project of Ovid's Metamorphoses.
