Sue Wiseman is Professor of Seventeenth Century English Literature at Birkbeck College, University of London.
She is the author of Politics and Drama in the English Civil War (1998), Aphra Behn (1996; revised 2007) and
Conspiracy and Virtue (2006). Specific research interests include Renaissance, Civil War, and Restoration
literature, women’s writing and politics. She is currently working on transformation in seventeenth century
vernacular writing.
